Evolve
In our life
it is necessary to evolve from one phase to another. Evolving is a process that does not happen overnight,
but happens over time. Timing is the
essential element that is misunderstood in this type of process. Many times, we think that, the process of
evolving is not taking place and the results are not seen. We must understand
that time is in charge, and time has its own role within the evolving
process. When things are evolving, not
own does time comes into play, attitude is essential to making the process easy
and the results acceptable, first to us and then to the world. It is important that we embrace those things
in our life that are changing and make the best of them as we continue to
evolve.
We must
understand that things must change and that nothing remains the same. Accepting this statement is paramount, and it
is the first step to understand why evolving is so necessary in our life. If we would remain the same and never evolve,
we would never see how great and excellent we are, as we embrace challenges in
our life and still overcome.
It is
important that every event has a great outcome and will bring us to a greater
level of excellence as we continue to evolve.
Events are use to help us evolve into the person that we should be, by
teaching us integrity and giving us
strength as well as, fortifying us for a greater work.
It is ok to evolve and keep evolving, as long
as you embrace and understand the process will work in your favor, all because
of the greatness inside of you will help you in this process. Evolve into your
Greatness and walk into your destiny!!

Destiny Is Calling!!!
When we talk about destiny we first must have a definition of what it is. Webster defines it such as: destiny is the predetermined stated or conditions foreordain by the Divine or human will.
The only way that we can understand destiny is to embrace the plan that has been set in place for a divine purpose. Many people try to rearrange events and things to accomplish a certain result that they think is meant for their destiny. In
order to understand your destiny you must first understand that your
destiny was set in place before you arrive on this earth plane. In other
words predetermined or foreordain.
According
to the scripture in Jer: (29:11), it said “For I know the plan that I
have for you said the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for calamity
to you a future and a hope.” When we began to embrace the fact that
there is a plan for your life and we must follow that plan in order to
reach the future that has been designed for me we will always feel lost
or have no directions.
Destiny
is a powerful word that has many faucets to it and several processes to
accomplish the desired result that has been predetermined for us. Each person’s destiny is unique but yet works in concert with the plan concerning life and success. The destiny that has be designed for my life is connected to the destiny that is for someone else life. This
is true when we meet people of different background or different
careers even of different faith only to learn and connect to for the
purpose of reaching our destiny. We
must understand that this is why we build relationship for the better
good of our destiny. We need each other for those things that will help
us move forward toward our future. It
so important that we value each other experiences in this life, because
it will help us develop those principles and moral that will enhance
our journey. We can learn from each other things that we should do and things that we shouldn’t do. There are some people who have been where you are or on your way to that can help you avoid some of the pitfall of that journey.
When
we refuse to walk the path that has been predetermine for us, we will
prolong the process or divert the process into something other than what
we are called to do. Destiny is a calling and you must answer the call in order to enjoy the richness of your future.
My
encouragement to you is to listen to the call that destiny is making
and don’t be afraid to answer. It will take you places that you thought
you would never see or even enjoy at this point in life. Although it comes with great sacrifice it still will speak in it appointed time.
Answer the call, destiny is calling!!!!!

What is a Cancer Survivor?
What determines whether a person has survived cancer?
That was a serious question. Member and sponsors have often asked us how we define the term "cancer survivor." We define a survivor as anyone who has lived one second past the moment of diagnosis.
After you are diagnosed with cancer, every moment of your life can center around survival. That is why - every moment of life you experience post-diagnosis is a moment of life as a breast cancer survivor.
Each week, we like to feature of the story of a profound breast cancer survivor that we've either met or read about. This week, we read a touching story about a woman who has overcome -- survived beyond her diagnosis. She is the aunt of the popular St. Louis blogger, Danyelle Little (Code Name: The Cubicle Chick).
Here's an excerpt from Danyelle's blog where she shares more about her aunt's journey:
You can be just like her. You can make a commitment to live each day as a survivor and not allow your breast cancer diagnosis to break your spirits. In the words of gospel duo, Mary Mary, you cried your "last tear, YESTERDAY!"

This sentence is usually enough to debilitate and turn one’s life upside down, but for my Aunt, she decided she wasn’t going to let cancer invade her without a fight..."One of the key characteristics of a breast cancer survivor is the ability to smile in the face of adversity. Danyelle's aunt has certainly exhibited the resiliency of her spirit to fight back against the condition that claims the lives of so many each day.

Be Careful with Your Cosmetics!
Not all cosmetic products are created equal. This is especially true for cancer survivors or women currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments. As a matter of fact, this is especially true for any woman who wants to PREVENT cancer (that's all of us, right?).
Carmen with Munaluchi Bridal recently discussed one specific chemical that can be cause for concern - Paraben, a cosmetic preservative. She mentioned all the variations of this product included in various cosmetic products - methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, etc. (I'm sure you get the gist - they all end with the word "paraben"). When you see that suffix on any cosmetic product, you may want to reconsider your purchase as this is a cancer-causing substance.
So...what products are safe to use? That's an excellent question. Ideally - you should focus on using all-natural products whenever possible. Focus on products that are less harsh on your skin and, if possible, commit to wearing as little makeup as possible. Remember - makeup was created to enhance your natural beauty, not change who you are.

National Cancer Prevention Month
Can you believe it's February already?!
February 1 marked the beginning of National Cancer Prevention Month. That's a bit of anomaly - since it seems that most forms of cancer are not only not easily detected in their early stages but also nearly impossible to prevent.
However, there are certain things you can do that could reduce the risk of cancer diagnosis - including changing your diet. Avoiding things like red meats, processed meats, etc. can reduce your risk for developing various forms of cancer. Replacing those meats with fresh vegetables will allow you to not only be healthy but also feel full.
What are you doing to get into the "healthy swing" this month?

Changing in 2013
WOW
Its a NEW YEAR!
I am so excited about the possibilities ahead of all of us here at My Pink Purse Survivor Essentials and our Pink Purse Community members. We have some events planned as well as continuing to be out in the community representing all things positive and informative for our"Survivors".
I recently got an email from one of the wonderful groups that makes donations to our cause - they wanted to know the number of actual patients going through therapy and those out of therapy or caregivers in our group. I let her know we call all of the members of our #MyPinkPurse Community "SURVIVORS". Not only did we make it through 2012 we survive daily, hourly, by the moment in whatever capacity life is throwing at us.
So we welcome 2013 and plan on being "Survivors" again this year!

I am Me, and I am OK
I am Me.
In all the world, there is no one else exactly like me.
Everything that comes out of me is authentically mine, because I alone chose it -- I own everything about me: my body, my feelings, my mouth, my voice, all my actions, whether they be to others or myself.
I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears. I own my triumphs and successes, all my failures and mistakes. Because I own all of me, I can become intimately acquainted with me.
By so doing, I can love me and be friendly with all my parts. I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me, and other aspects that I do not know -- but as long as I am friendly and loving to myself, I can courageously and hopefully look for solutions to the puzzles and ways to find out more about me. However I look and sound, whatever I say and do, and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is authentically me.
If later some parts of how I looked, sounded, thought, and felt turn out to be unfitting, I can discard that which is unfitting, keep the rest, and invent something new for that which I discarded. I can see, hear, feel, think, say, and do. I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive, and to make sense and order out of the world of people and things outside of me. I own me, and therefore, I can engineer me.
I am me, and I am
Okay.

Hair Down There- Erase it
SHARE from Pretty City on taking Care of the hair Down There!
The Prep
Whether you are a waxing virgin or veteran, pre-wax prepping is a must. First, take a warm shower and exfoliate skin well with a body scrub. Don't shave just before a wax, but do trim hair to about 1/4 inch in length. This will likely be 2 to 3 weeks of hair growth if you normally shave; if you typically wax, allow about 4 weeks between waxing appointments. As you head to your appointment, pop an Advil for discomfort and apply a numbing cream, such as BareEase.
The Appointment
For waxing virgins, that first appointment can be awkward. If it's your first-ever wax, let your esthetician know. Once you've checked in at the spa or salon, expect to be given a disposable paper G-string, a towel and, oftentimes, a wipe. Remove your underpants, use the wipe to freshen up down below, put on the disposable G-string and lie down on the treatment bed using the towel to cover you. Your esthetician will likely ask you to get into a frog position as she removes errant hairs around the inner thighs and labia. And, if she asks if you want your 'back' done, she's not offering a massage. Say 'yes' if you want all the hair on your bottom regions gone, too.
A Brazilian wax, which involves the nearly complete baring of private
parts (front and back), and the application of hot liquid to said parts, can be scary the first time. Not to worry, here's what
you must know including points even veteran waxers may not know about
going bare.

Day of Joy
Allow your self a day of pure Joy. A day to find humor in everything
and a silver lining in all you do. A glass so full day, that your cup
runneth over with "goodness". Be sure to pass that enthusiasm on to
everyone else you meet. Passing on the joy and appreciation you have
chosen to embrace. Need some help here is a little joke to help bring
out that first smile:
Teacher Ask -"What did your mother do yesterday morning. Vicky?"
"She done her shopping, ma'am."
Teacher replies -"Done her shopping, Vicky? Where's your grammar?"
"She done her shopping too."

You are the best Gift to Give - Part 3
By Rev. Wilfert Lee
You are the
best gift that you can give for the rest of someone’s life. You are so valuable, great and awesome that
people are waiting to see the gift of love that is inside of you... Don’t be
afraid to love unconditionally and feel free to love those who have not been
great toward you. You have the
gift of love inside and the ability to love all over you. So when you meet
someone, express the love that is inside of you and give him or her the best
gift that they will ever have and that is YOU.
After you
have spent all of the money to make a great holiday for your love ones, remember
the one gift left to give is You.
Be sure to tell someone that you love them and appreciate them for the
small things that they have done in your life. Don’t forget to tell them that
they are a great and very valuable to you and that your life is better because
of them. Invite them to laugh and
live life and continue to show love for each other every day for the rest of
their life. We must make the most
of the time we are here and we must give what has been given to us and that is
Love!!
Give the
best gift and that gift is YOU!!!!
You are the best gift to Give Part 2- Forgiveness
By Rev. Wilfert Lee
Giving the
gift of forgiveness to someone who wronged you when you felt you were
right. The only cost of that gift
will be humility and love. If you
really want to give a person a gift that will set them free for the rest of
their life, give them the gift of forgiveness. Even if the act felt unbearable.
Forgiveness would help you as well as helping the other person and allow you to
be healed during this season. You
will no longer be chained by the act of unforgiveness, but loosed by the act of
love and forgiveness.
Embracing
the holiday season to symbolize love and not just about buying gifts, then YOU
will become a gift.
You are the best Give to Give part 1
By Rev. Wilfert Lee
As we continue to celebrate this holiday season, we want to make sure that the gift you give is appropriate for the people we love. Many times you just don’t know what gift to give or if what you give is going to be the right gift. Most people spend great time in planning what to give, and to make sure that they are giving the right gift and the person would be excited about the gift that you give. As you spend the money and time trying to find the perfect gift, you forget about one gift that is so perfect and can continue to keep giving after the season is over.

That gift is
YOU. You are the best gift to give and you are the gift that will keep on
giving. Many times we don’t
understand how valuable we are in someone else life until we realize that we
can be that gift. When you realize
that… if you would really show the love that you have for someone, by simply
offering to help them accomplish tasks that they have been wanting to do for a
long time, then you will be greatly appreciated and loved. If you could give yourself freely to
helping feed the hungry or see about the elderly, cooking a meal for someone
who is not able to are just some of the ways to give yourself as a gift.
Life has
happened to each of us and some have enjoyed the good times that it has brought
whereas other have had a hard time in adjusting to what life has brought to
them. Reaching out and offering to help in whatever way we can, would be one
on the greatest gift that you could give someone. Changing a person’s life with a simple act of kindness will
go a long ways as a gift. Maybe
buying a toy for some other child other than your own or inviting someone over
for a holiday meal that can’t afford one or even reading to a group of children
the real Christmas story could be some of the ways to become the gift that
keeps on giving.
Teaching the
act of love rather than the conversation of love is one of the greatest gifts
that you can give someone that they will always remember.
